Petcare Guanacaste Clinic Updates (May 2012)

It was a good clinic as we attended to 89 dogs and cats. I had three ‘lots’ of people with unwanted pups. I’m beginning to feel that what I am trying to do is about hopeless.   Jacki who helped out on Monday found a mother dog and 5 pups who were maybe 2-3 weeks old, abandoned at the side of the street on her way home.  I had one dog put down at Gilberts today because she was so sick with maggots that they were coming out of her eyes.  Even Gilbert was freaked.  Took in another dog for amputation of a front leg and another with distemper.  My bill with him is through the ceiling.  Saturday I went to see a dog that had gotten the worst of a fight.  His eye was hanging out and heaps of holes all over.  We popped the eye back in, cleaned up the wounds, eye meds and antibiotics. I went to check  on him on Monday and he is doing fine – AMAZING, so I saved on vet fees there.  Brought home a near dead pup and had her on an IV for 3 hours – she will make it I think.  Sometimes can’t get it together with all these ‘horrors’ that I deal with.  And cannot keep up with vet bills.

On Saturday I popped into the Flea Market and 3 people gave me their leftovers for the dogs and maybe another garage sale will pay for a clinic.  I owe Dr Christian $600 … he is willing to wait.

So these are my ‘woes’ Rita  - I so wish that the folks here would realize what I do here. So many think I MAKE money and it’s pitiful.   I am going to take July and August off for a much needed rest.
Sleep well, I am full of tears…
